Fayetteville, Arkansas–A Fayetteville police officer died tonight during a shootout at the police station in downtown Fayetteville. The shooter died after a shootout with responding officers a few feet away from the police station. The incident happened at 9:40 p.m. on Saturday behind the Police Station.
Mike Reynolds, Chief of Fayetteville Police Department, said, “It appears as though the subject just entered the back parking lot and executed my officer.” He further explained that the FBI and Washington County Sheriff’s Office are handling the crime scene, and Fayetteville Police Department will handle the internal investigation.
No names have been released, and there are no known motives at the time of this post.
