Demonstrators shut down streets after Van Dyke verdict

Chicago, Illinois–Chicago Police Officer Jason Van Dyke has been found guilty of second degree murder in the death of Laquan McDonald. Dyke’s bond was revoked and sentencing was scheduled for October 31. After the verdict protesters took to the street to protest the 2014 killing which caused several streets to be shut down by protesters. The Police union says the conviction will be appealed.
